Coming off a big win the previous night, the Generals came out flat against the Coaldale Copperheads. Cochrane couldnt get any flow going in their game and was out worked and out played for the majority of the contest. The big Copperheads squad took the lead early in the first period but Cochrane came back to tie the score when Kashtin Gordon's point shot hit the back of the net. The teams headed into the dressing rooms tied at 1.
The second period was a mirror image of the 1st. The Copperheads struck early and the Generals managed to tie the game again when Wes Kashuba blasted a slapshot from the blueline. After 2 periods Coaldale led in shots 25-19 and they held the territorial advantage.
The Generals legs stopped moving in the 3rd and they found themselves in penalty trouble. Coaldale took advantage and scored 3 straight powerplay goals to put the game out of reach. Maddison Smiley one timed a shot through a screen to cut the score to 5-3 but it was too little too late as the Generals dropped their 3 game of the season. The team will have to regroup in a hurry as they are off to face a good Three Hills team on Friday night and then they are back home on Saturday to square off against the High River Flyers.
