The Cochrane Generals ended 2024 on a positive note with a 2-0 win over the Ponoka Stampeders on Dec. 20.

Gens Declan Kinch and Evan Plewes scored the only two goals in the game in the first and Lukas Martens turned away 30 shots for his first shutout as a Gen.

Lukas MartensLukas Martens earned his first shut out as a Gen in his third start with the club.

The road win gives them a firm grip on fourth place in the south division of the HJHL heading into the New Year.

The Gens open 2025 at home against the Wheatland Kings on Jan. 3. To date, the Gens won one of the three games against the Kings.

The Kings enter 2025 on a three-game winning streak and are second in the south, a major rebound from last year when they didn't make playoffs.
