The Generals went into Saturday’s action against the struggling Rimbey Rock looking to continue their perfect season. The Rock came into the game winless on the 2010-2011 campaign and the Generals were too much to handle. The Gens cruised to a 20-0 victory and improved to an impressive 13-0 on the season. Mike Matlo had a solid offensive night with 2 goals and 4 assists, while Jay Labelle and HJHL scoring leader Danny Mcsween both picked up hat tricks. Mcsween’s 4 goals and 1 assist gave him 40 points on the season. Garret Fraser picked up his 1st shutout as a Cochrane General. Despite only seeing 15 shots, Fraser was very sharp making several timely saves. The powerplay went 3/6 on the night while the penalty kill went 2/2. The Generals outshot the Rock 52-15. Sunday night will be a true test for the Generals as they take on their division rival the Airdrie Thunder.
