The Cannex Cochrane Generals are looking for local volunteers to help make game nights a success as the team prepares for the 2026-27 Heritage Junior Hockey League season.
The Generals are seeking volunteers for several game-day positions, including two penalty box attendants, scorekeepers, timekeepers, security, a camera operator and two goal-light operators.
The roles provide an opportunity for local hockey fans to be part of the action while supporting junior hockey in Cochrane.

Main camp, exhibition games
The Generals are preparing for their 2026-27 main camp, running Sept. 3 to 6 at the SLS Centre.
Shortly afterward, they open their preseason with a home-and-home exhibition series against the Airdrie Thunder.
The first game is set for Sept. 11 at Ron Ebbeson Arena in Airdrie, before the teams meet again Sept. 12 at the SLS Centre’s Totem One.
Regular season starts on the road
The regular season begins on the road for the Generals, who will visit the Sylvan Lake Wranglers and Coaldale Copperheads.
Cochrane’s home opener is scheduled for Oct. 2 against the Airdrie Thunder. It’s the first of 18 regular season home games.
A storied Cochrane hockey club
Founded in 1984, the Cochrane Generals are one of the more established franchises in the Heritage Junior Hockey League.
Over the years, numerous Generals players have gone on to play Junior A and pursue hockey at the post-secondary levels in Canada and the States, continuing the club’s tradition of player development and success.
