For over 40 years, the Cannex Cochrane Generals have been committed to developing players both on and off the ice. Competing in the Heritage Junior Hockey League, the Generals provide a competitive environment where players can continue their education, develop their skills, and pursue opportunities at the next level, all while representing one of Alberta’s most respected junior hockey organizations.
Education
The Cannex Cochrane Generals believe success extends far beyond hockey. Players are encouraged to continue their education while competing at a high level, allowing them to balance academics, work, and hockey throughout the season. The organization also provides mental health resources and promotes a healthy lifestyle, helping players prepare for success both during and after their hockey careers.
Junior B Experience, Junior A Feel
The Generals provide players with one of the highest levels of Junior B hockey in Alberta. From a competitive schedule and experienced coaching staff to a professional team environment, players experience many of the benefits associated with Junior A hockey while maintaining the flexibility to continue school or work. It’s the closest calibre to Junior A without making the full Junior A commitment.

Entering their 43rd season, the Cannex Cochrane Generals continue to build on a proud tradition of excellence. The organization has captured four League Championships, three Provincial Medals, and eight Division Championships, creating a winning culture that has shaped generations of players. Development
As a sanctioned member of Hockey Alberta and Hockey Canada through the Heritage Junior Hockey League, the Generals provide players with a proven development pathway. Athletes have opportunities to compete for Provincial Championships, earn Junior A call-ups, and continue advancing their hockey careers while developing valuable life skills along the way.
Value
For approximately $2,700, the Cannex Cochrane Generals offer one of the best values in junior hockey. Players receive two practices each week, a 38-game regular season schedule, mental health support, opportunities to compete at Provincial Championships, and the chance to earn Junior A call-ups. Compared to many unsanctioned leagues that can cost $10,000 or more, the Generals deliver an affordable, competitive, and player-focused experience.
